A beautifully curated gallery! The permanent collections are fascinating and easily withstand repeat visiting...I find something new, learn some new nugget each time. The changing exhibits are inspiring, uplifting or provoking. The Hepworth truly feels like it has grown from the community, and is a big supporter of arts in schools. Cool shop, great caf for lunch, brunch or coffee &cake. Love it!
Fantastic gallery and a real asset for Wakefield. Great for children - there were various art related activities on the weekend we visited. Food in the cafe was delicious (I had the Spanish tortilla with chocolate cheesecake), and the coffee was good too.
A wonderful museum full of sculptures, paintings and photography. Very photogenic and a delight to visit. Car parking a short distance away. A great restaurant serving light meals and drinks. Highly recommended.
We are so lucky to have The Hepworth in Wakefield, it's a great place to spend a few hours. There's lots to see, read about and learn. My children (ranging from 5 to 16) love it, there's also a good little playground outside they can burn off some energy. The cafe in the Hepworth is a lovely space, I enjoyed brunch there and the options were varied. It's worth the treat!What I love the most about The Hepworth is I can visit frequently and there's always something new to see, or something I hadn't noticed before.
Excellent gallery, highly recommended to anyone in the area with an interest in modern and contemporary art.The Hepworth showcases some major works of Barbara Hepworth, alongside other key players in British modern art. The space is well thought out with good lighting and positioning of exhibits in a fantastic building.The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and happy to chat about the exhibits on display.Lovely cafe and a well stocked shop. No steps to the entrance and lift and stairs for access to first floor. Free entry.
