Lovely place in summer for walking dogs but not so good in winter

Lovely quiet campsite, pitches quite small, good value, toilets and showers basic but clean, lovely cycle route around the Priory. Definitely worth a visit.

We loved having our motorhome here. This time we only stayed one night but we shall be coming again. The trees and little mobile homes surrounding the site are so cute and cosy. Plus the easy access to the grounds of Nostell Priory is a real bonus. Next time we will bring our bikes and make the most!!! We will be back!!

We stayed at nostell priory midweek, the site itself was well maintained and the toilet and shower block were clean and warm. The night warden asked us to move our van as he thought it was blocking the road, i dont think it was but we moved it to the car park area as he had been so polite! The surroundings of the park are stunning and we took a picnic down to the house itself, providing you have decent weather this site is beautifully placed and you would be sure to have a great stay, There is a cafe on site but we never used it being tight northerners :-)

We just got back from spending three nights here and theres a few negatives and positives for my family and myself... let me first point out that we would return and is already planning on returning. The negatives.... and the rain was a contributing factor to this one, the mud! On the site its gravelled and on either side of us separating each caravan is grass, as its been raining it was quite muddy. We went with the intent to put our caravan awning up and found that trying to peg the awning down on the gravel was a useless task and they kept bending as we tried to hammer them in... in the end we had to set it up on the grass with mud... it carried on raining a few days and around the caravan was a muddy slippy mess and the tarpaulin we laid as a ground sheet was filled with mud along with the bottom of the awning... another negative is that theres nothing entertaining for teenagers. Our teenage son on the second day was bored out of his mind. The shower had a mind of its own on one occasion when I was in the middle of my shower it decided to stop leaving me freezing and in addition it takes a little while to warm up. The positives is if youre into nature walks its good for that. Its peaceful and quite tranquil. It is also clean and the staff we encountered were warm and very accommodating, the bathroom is basic but the cleanliness is maintained. I would definitely recommend it for couples especially when its nice and dry.
