Pioneer AVIC F80 DABIn April of 2017 I went to Ram Audio In Wakefield and spent 1500 on the flagship Pioneer AVIC F80 DAB to be fitted to my new motorhome. After another short while, the screen on the unit which flips up to allow CDs to be put in, stuck in the open position. I had to return to Ram again with the motorhome to let them take the Unit out again, this time to be returned to Pioneer to find the reason why the screen was sticking open. RAM had the unit for 3 months, and I was told the reason it was damaged was because it had had a drink spilled on it. As the owner and only user of the Motorhome, I can categorically state that there has never been a drink spilled on it, a fact which has been confirmed by an independent Pioneer agent I have had to visit to rectify all the mistakes and work that RAM charged me for and didnt carry out, like the fitting of Dynamat in the doors. In fact it is their opinion that the reason the screen stuck in the open position is because someone pulled the head out of the cage while holding the screen and strained the mechanism. Which also might explain why a CD has now become stuck in the head. I phoned RAM to try to get the fault attended to there, I called in office hours, but was connected to an answering machine stating they were very busy. I left a message on along with my name and number, and almost 4 weeks later have heard nothing from RAM. This is not the first time this has happened, in January of this year, the navigation system froze, and I phoned Ram and spoke to Jeff, who had returned to the business after leaving for a while. He said he would investigate and call me back. Again to this date he has not phoned back. The customer service at RAM is non existent, once they have had your money they are not interested. This is why I have had to find another Pioneer dealership to help me sort the many issues I have with my 1500 installation. Like the fact they did not connect the vehicle analogue aerial to the head, so tuning into even Radio 2 in Leeds was almost impossible. There was a foil DAB aerial stuck to the windscreen which helped with a DAB signal. The work carried out on my 60,000 motorhome was of a very poor standard, with drill debris and off cuts of wire left strewn about. The new company has pointed out how a lot of the tabs on the trim in my 60,000 motorhome have been broken off by poor and heavy handed workmanship.Bear in mind this is a motorhome, and as such is not in daily use, like a car, and to say I am disappointed is a gross understatement. If I have used the vehicle for 5 weeks in total since having the system fitted that would be a long time, so I hardly think it can be worn out. In fact it has spent more time out of the vehicle getting repaired than I have used it. It is now out of the warranty period, and I still havent had the initial map upgrade a new purchaser is entitled to with a new unit, and now I am told I will have to pay for this. I have read the other negative reviews about RAM and the standard line seems to be bring it back in and give us a chance to put things right. Well, the reason people engage professionals is so they get it right first time. Experts are not supposed to need several attempts to get a job that they profess to be proficient at to get right. But also, to be given a chance to put it right you would have to return your customers phone call. I have been messed about, lied to, and had personal property removed from my vehicle since having the misfortune to deal with RAM. Despite having spent 1500 on Pioneers flagship model, I am still having to visit another Pioneer dealer to have RAMs work rectified. This dealer removed the head unit and returned it to Pioneer who repaired all the faults, including a damaged cd mechanism which appears to have been used to pull the head out of the dashboard obviously during one of the times Ram had the vehicle at their shop. According to the new dealer I am by no means the first customer they have had to have RAMs workmanship rectified.
I bought from this guys a car stereo sat nav for 530 and applied for the finance (I preferred that way)...after my purchase I check on eBay and Halfords how much would it cost (you know...you are happy to think that you have made a kind of bargain) and I found out that exactly the same sat nav was less than 400 on eBay and 350 on Halfords....we are talking about 180 less!...finance cost Not included I paid also for the delivery 12.5... I sent an email to Ram mobile Ltd and they offered me to add some more items on the order for free...etc etc...(At Halfords the whole thing was 400 - I mean plus the things they were sending me for free) I accept the offer at the beginning but after a bit I change my mind...I decided to return the two box I received back to them....I sent the first one and before I send the second one they send me an email telling me they wont accept my boxes back...why??? The first box wasnt even open (so no damage at all)....the excuse is : its on finance and the sale is closed??? What?? The company that accepted to lend me the money said I can withdraw the loan without even explaining why...what means the sale is closed??? I cant cancel my order? Why? About law I surely can returning everything!I felt they were trying to pressing me to accept everything (saying everything for them has a cost bla Bla Bla Bla) and that I couldnt do anything....Never again....especially dont apply for the finance if you want to feel free to change your mind...especially within the 14 days after your purchase!Worst experience ever
Been to ram many times always a professional job done great customer service and a friendly welcome as you walk through the door
Referring to Michael Senior' s review, Jay as told many lies and changes his stories to suit, Ford have admitted no such thing about it being a manufacturing fault we have spoken with the Ford technician this morning and he confirmed that it was a part that had been disturbed in the area around where you were working, also i wish to correct you about you saying our car being an ex demo this is another lie as we bought the car brand new with only 7 miles on the clock this being delivery mileage. I will not argue with you Jay I am taking this matter further. Your customer after care is very poor as when people leave a bad review normally a business would try to resolve the issue and not play childish games and tell a pack of lies.
Had the sounds upgraded in My BMW E60 from the standard base set up to 3 way Rainbow components powered by an amp. Theres night and day difference, sounds so much cleaner, crispier and the bass sounds good too. Jay, Qais and the team did an amazing job. Very neat finishing. Cant even tell parts of the car had been stripped. Thank you guys i can now enjoy my music!!
