You know a great way to get repeat business? Despite extenuating circumstances and the customer being willing to spend additional money, refuse to help them with an exchange because the item's a single day out of date for returns. Not only is this terrible customer service, it's completely redundant when the tremendously helpful internet customer services team ensures the exchange happens anyway. Next time I want to buy my wife a gift I'll choose one of the thousand alternative stores offering exactly the same products, which won't make my wife feel uncomfortable for asking for something so simple and easily granted.
