Been going to Wakefield for a number of years and have only just discovered The Hop. Great bar with friendly staff and loads of real ales. It really is the best bar in Wakefield. Will definitely be going back.

Excellent pub/bar with excellent ales and beers. Often live music on. Do wish they had areas where the music was not so loud though. That may well be me being a grumpy old man, but on a Friday evening in the room without the live music the piped music was so loud conversation became very difficult.
Good pub in a quiet location - at the bottom of a dead-end road and opposite a car park. Has a good beer garden outside.Pint of blonde was 3 and was nice. Pint of Carling was a bit over 3.50, I think.Pub has a good atmosphere and has music on regularly.
Hands down my favorite bar in Wakefield.Great for somewhere to go for a sit down and a few beers and a quiet chat.Great on a sunny afternoon for sitting outside and enjoying a cold beer or cider.Great on an evening as a lively evening do too.They also have a really great selection of ales, beers and whiskey.Top stuff
