Very good .. The Star used to be such a posers pub for the 'Sandal Social Set' Decent beers on, and dog friendly. Will certainly visit again. (PS I nevef give five stars)
It's a real ale pub with well kept beers, the pub is old worldly with I would imagine quite some history. It's warm a welcoming atmosphere and dog friendly, in my view well worth a visit if you're in the area

Just love this pub. Great beers, always changing and always a good choice. Some of the beers brewed on site. Dog friendly and our pooch always looks forward to meeting all the other 4 legged patrons ! There's even biscuits for the dogs on the bar !
Depending on what you're looking for - to me great. Brilliant pint, great atmosphere, nice selection of ales - well poured by nice staff. Dogs and familiy friendly. Prices are not greatest (if they were lower I'd be there more frequently) but to be honest I'd rather pay 3.90 for great, fresh, well poured pint than 2.50 for gone off one at some other places. Decent car park, beer garden at the back. Love it.
